Spider Solitaire Rules
Spider Solitaire is a two-deck patience game. You deal 104 cards into ten columns and win by removing eight same-suit sequences from King down to Ace. These are the rules used on SpiderImp.
What is the goal?
Build eight descending sequences of the same suit from King through Ace. Each completed run leaves the tableau (on SpiderImp it moves to the Completed area). Clear all eight runs to win.
How is the tableau set up?
Use two standard 52-card decks (104 cards). Deal ten columns: four columns of six cards and six columns of five (54 cards). Only the top card of each column starts face-up. The remaining 50 cards form the stock (Deal pile). Difficulty changes which suits appear: 1, 2, or 4 suits on SpiderImp.
What moves are legal?
- You may place a card on another card of the next-higher rank. Suit does not matter for a single card.
- A group of cards moves together only if it is a descending sequence of the same suit.
- An empty column may receive any card or any movable same-suit run.
- Uncovering a face-down card flips it face-up automatically.
When may you deal from the stock?
Deal only when every column has at least one card. Each deal places one card face-up on each of the ten columns. You cannot deal while a column is empty—that empty space is your rearrangement tool. See why empty columns block dealing.
How does SpiderImp score a win?
A win is finishing all eight runs. Rankings use moves first, then time, stored locally per difficulty. That differs from some desktop versions that start at 500 points and subtract. Details: scoring on SpiderImp.
